Text: Genesis 7:1-11:32

Speaker: Dr. Les Steele, SPU's Vice President for Academic Affairs

Big picture: In the Flood narrative, we read about God's initial "solution" to the corruption of the world--destruction. But in this same story, we discover the method of solving this problem is ultimately unsuccessful, because in the pages immediately following the destruction of the world, we find that the same corruption has crept back into the story. God promises not to destroy by water ever again. This sets the stage for what will be God's next and superior plan for the salvation of creation.
